REASONABLE PRICE.
CANDIDATE'S CLAIM.
(From Our Correspondent.)
HAMILTON, Monday
"The farmer is getting a reasonable J guarantee price for his butter to-day— I one that he never anticipated in his { wildest dreams," said Mr. C. A. Bar- [ rell, Labour candidate for Hamilton, { during an address to an audience of 300 in the Fairfield School to-night. He said the Government did not assess I*e guaranteed price, this being done by the Guaranteed Prices Advisory Committee. The reason the Government did not accept the committee's recommended prices was because the report presented by the committee stated that if these ' standards were adopted there was the ' possibility of the Government not being able to maintain them. I A vote of thanks was carried by ' acclamation, and cheers were given for the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, and for Mr. Barrell at the close of the meeting.
