TRAVEL TALK.
PENWOMEN'S CLUB.
SOUTH AMERICAN SCENES.
A talk 011 her recent travels in South America was given by Mrs. St. C.air Woollains at the IVnwoinenb Club yesterday afternoon. A life size statue of a bullock team was a curious spectacle eeen in Chile, she said. A small train with wooden seats took the travellers part of the way across the Andes, and in brilliant sunshine among the snow, with cherry trees lining the route, the trip, despite the red dust, was a memorable one. The beautiful blue Lake Portabello among the mountains, with Mount Aconcagua in the background, impressed the travellers. Rivers of melting snow were everywhere. The rest of the journey was by car over a very narrow road cut out of the sheer rock along the mountain side, with on one side a drop of several thounaltd feet. Along the route from Mendoza into Buenos Ay res were the ostrich and peanut farms. The ostriches, "as big as horses, dug for the peanuts and fed on them. This trip across the Andes into Buenos Ayres occupied two days. The president, Mrs. Xello Porter, presided and thanked the speaker for her address.
A discussion on the "Inferiority Complex" was held, Mis. C. D. McLean presiding. Mrs. Annie Turner, Miss Olive Rutherford. Mrs. Will and Mrs. Willcott gave interesting contributions. Mrs. T. E. Richards sang pleasingly. "Where'er You Are - ' and "If We Sailed Awav."
