NAVY LEAGUE.
CARD AFTERNOON. PARTY FOR FUNDS. Tile ladies' committee of the Navy League held a most enjoyable bridge and mah jong afternoon «t the Farmers' Trading C'«*nipany Tea Ropms, Hobson Street, in aid of the Navy League funds.

Blomfield, F. H. Gilford. C'. B. Tinlev, G. Coats, C. A. Cumming, T. Palmer. Mis* Darling, and Miss M. Leah (lion, secretary). Cumming, Middlebrook. G. A. Gribbin, E. Willcocks, Miss I. Dette, Mesdames S. G. Hale, T. Gulliver and L. C. Dixon. Prizes were presented by Mrs. T. G. Hlennie to Mrs. A. I. Johns (contract), Mrs. Denne (auction), Mrs. B. J. Maiquet and Mrs. Jervois (mah jong). MEN OF KENT. The president, Mr. J. W. Jenks, presided over a large attendance of members at the monthly socin, of the Auckland Branch of the Association of Men of Kent and Kent Men, which was held in the Fabian Clubrooms. An evening for members only is held once a year so that the members may get to know each other better. After several buslnes smatters had been discussed, an interesting programme was carried out, this including games and competitions arranged by Mrs. E. W. Robbins and Mrs. A. Wallis, also dancing and items. The latter were songs by Mrs. Wallis, duets by Mrs. G. Baker and Mrs. J. B. Jones, clarinet solos by Mr. H. Warder, and a recital of elocutionary numbers by Mr. H. Crandall. The music for dancing was supplied by Mrs. Eady Payne and Mrs. W. Arnold. COMING-OF-AGE PARTY A coming-of-age party was held recently in honour of their only daughter Elsie by Mr. and Mrs. J. Baker, of Royal Oak, at St. Peter's Hall, Onehunga. An enjoyable evening of dancing and games was spent by over 40 guests. Songs were rendered by Mr. J. Baker. The hall presented a gay scene with its multi-coloured streamers, baJloons and flowers. The tables were daintily decorated with irises, Iceland poppies, gladioli and stock. Mr. Peake capably discharged his duties as master of ceremonies. The supper arrangements were in the capable hands of Mrs. Connolly and Mrs. Wakely. The guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. J. Baker.
