INJURY TO AN EYE.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
WHANGAREI, this day
A painful eye injury befell Mr. E. A. Cliff, of Waiotiri, when fencing on his farm yesterday. He was fastening a wire to a post when the staple came out from the supporting wire striking Mr. Cliff in the left eye and inflicting a deep cut. Medical attention was sought and two stitches were inserted in the wound. Mr. Cliff's condition is satisfactory, although he is suffering from shock and loss of blood.
