CHRISTC HI'RCH. this day., Although a totalizator permit is not available, the Canterbury Owners and Breeders' Association intends to organise a charity trotting meeting at Addington to assist- the funds for the relief of Chinese refugee children. The president of the association. Mr. R. E. Hall, said that it was hoped to run a charity meeting without a totalisator some time in (October. although it might not be possible to secure a free Saturday at the course in that month. In that case, as a mid-week meeting was not likely to be successful, an available Saturday in November would be selected. Of course, tiie ideal time, he added, would be a Saturday late in Octol*?r. with tlie idea of getting nomination? for the horses running at the big meeting in November.
