POWERS OF ARREST. F«f Traffic Inspectors, A suggestion that powers of arrest be granted to traffic inspectors, provided they were properly trained, was approved by the South Island Motor Union at a conference to-day. Commenting on the North Island Union's objection to power being given to inspectors to «rreat intoxicated drivers, a delegate pointed out that the Government had only to make the inspectors special cenaUblea to give them powera of ■rreat.—(P J»..
