HON. A. HAMILTON'S POLITICS.
Has N Mr. Hamilton joined the Labour nartr? ?- Some little time ago Mr. Hamilton said that if Labour was returned to power he would get behind and give what assistance he could. It would seem as if he is now convinced Labour is going back and is already supporting the Labour policy. I quote some of his recent utterances: "We do not atand for the exploitation of society by individuals." "We advocate ordered freedom imposed by the people for their own good." "The 'best means of encouraging industry is to leave as much spending power as possible in the hands of those earning the money." "The capitalist system won't work if it is going -to be exploited. If you can run efficient businesses, giving service, that is what the people want, but if private enterprise tries to exploit «ncietv we cannot stani for it." This is what the Labour Government has been saying and doin? for the past three years. If Mr. Hamilton is not careful someone will accuse him of being a Socialist. Of course, this will be nothing new; last election the IJemocrats (now good Nationalist*) claimed to be the only non-. Socialist party. Mr. F. W. Doidge. (also a good Nationalist now) said the National Government was a Soviet Government and that Mr. Coats* was head of the Soviets. He """""""fully slated Messrs. Forbes and Coatee, bi:t joined the party under Mr. Hamilton. So it would appear that Mr. Doidge's political . trousers are suspended by the single Hamilton " button. The election is a month off; he may yet decide on a new garment. PLAIN BILL.
