As the Parliamentary election fall* on the date originally scheduled for the New Zealand 100 kilometres (62V* miles) amateur road championship event, it was decided at last evcninjiVi meeting of the Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association to alter the date to October 8 and to seek the permission of the association at Wellington for confirmation oi the change.
It was stated that a change was inevitable, owing to the anticipated heavy trattiv which would be likely to cover the race route on election day.
The race will start at 9.30 a.m., to allow visiting riders and visiting officials an opportunity to return by the 3 p.m. Auckland-Wellington express.
The course will be from Birkenhead wharf, via Albany, Dairy Flat, Kaukapakapa, Helens ville to Point Chevalier. Each centre is permitted three entrants and the field will start in massed formation with the championship title going to the first rider to finish. Medals will be presented to the first three finishers, while the winner will also be awarded a championship sash.
