WRESTLING.
MJMMTSXLD V. DETTON.
FOR DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP
Matched for the third time in a title bout for the New Zealand professional heavy-weight wrestling championship, Lofty Blomfield and Dean Detton will asset in the Auckland Town Hall on Tuesday night next —an attraction that must rank among the best presented this sesson. In their first encounter Detton was awarded the victory on the disqualification of Blomfield, and in the second line-up at Wellington last Monday there was a sensational^ending when the referee was struck by a flying tackle launched by Detton and thrown out of the ring. He was unable to return and the contest was stopped, no decision being given. The Auckland Wrestling Association has thus been fortunate in securing the -final match which will decide the championship for the 1038 season. The match is of more than usual interest in that Dean Detton ig the immediate past champion of the world. with the reputation of having been one of the strongest holders of that title in recent wrestling history.- If Blomfield can hold his title in the face of this opposition it will make his position much more secure, and may again earn himthe chance of a match with the champion in America. Both men are now at the top of their form and regardless of the decision it should be a most interesting match with any amount of excitement.
