MILNE AND CHOYCL
'SATISFACTORY OPERATIONS. AFTER SEVENTY-TWO YEARS. "The year has been a gratifying one," said Mr. J. S. Milne, chairman of directors at to-day's annual meeting of shareholders in Milne and Choyce, Ltd. Incidentally he mentioned that this was the seventy-second year of business of the linn, and its thirty-seventh year as a company. An outstanding feature of the year, said Mr. Milne, was the linking up with David Jones, Ltd, in regard to overseas i buying. This had already proved a good move, being exemplified in the class of foods that were now coming to hand for the new season. Business for the current year, he said, had opened auspiciously. There were now 606 persons employed by the firm, and he wae glad to pay testimony to the excellent relationships that existed among the whole of the officers and the etalf. The report and balance-sheet, already published in the "Star," were unanimously adopted, and a vote of thanks to the staff moved by Mr. H. V. Choyce, was carried
