Keen interest is being taken in the Rugby match at Eden Park on Saturday next, between the Barbarians' Club and the provincial reps.-
The Auckland Barbarians' Club is! modelled on the lines of the famous Eng- ! hah Barbarians' Club, formed in 1890. The 1 Home team is essentially a touring one, ' having one tour a season". The club was formed as the result of a visit to the Midands and Yorkshire by a team organised by a prominent Blackheath Club player of the day. The original members included international players from all the four Home unions. The Barbarians for Saturday's game are:— Full-back—R. G. Bush. Three-quarters—G. F. Hart, F. W. Lucas, T. H. C. Caughey, G. A. Bullock-Douglas. Five-eighths—C. E. Cammick, D. Solomon. Half-baek-M. Corner. Front Row—W. Hadley, S. Hadley, M. Evans, A. Finla.vson. Second Row—R. G. McWilliams, C. Webb, F. Solomon, H. F. McLean. Back Row—M. Fraser. Reserves.—D. Flett, D. Ashley. Even after omitting one three-quarter, there will be 13 internationals in the sideall but Cammick and Evans. Webb plaved for England against the 1935 All Blacks and in 13 other Tests. Vi' e T>l >er ' s "°t available as he is still suffering from injuries received on the Auckland team's recent tour of the south. The side may be changed round at half-time. THIRD GRADE V. THAMES. The Auckland third grade Rugby representatives to play the Thames Physical Training Club at the Showgrounds on Saturday will be chosen from :—Brown, Clews, StmraondK (Suburbs), Mutton, Bowleg, Wrightson, Johnson. Charman, Arblaster (Northcote), Webb Macule (Training College), Wilkins (North Shore), Gale, Gifford, Gribble, Houten (Grafton), Raisebech, Dobbyn, Patterson, Thevers, Hogan, Brlstow (Marls*). The players will train at the Grafton shed to-nlgbt at 8 o'clock. PRIMARY SCHOOLS' FINAL. The final of the Auckland Primary Schools' Rugby I'nion's senior competition for the D.C.1.. Cup was played at the Domain yesterday and resulted in a win for Gladstone, which defeated Marist by 10 points to 3. The Marist backs handled well, but the Gladstone forwards were too strong for the opposition. Mr. H. Frost (president of the A.R.F.U.) | presented the trophy to the winning team j after the game.
The finals of the junior grade competition will be decided between Maungawhau. Otahuhu and Northcote. Maangawhau was to meet Otahuhu at the Domain to-day, the winner to play Northcote on Saturday morn in p.
