Girls' Friendly Society Meeting.

At the annual meeting of the C.hW Friendly Society, held in the lodge WHlrsley Street, Ust night, a year of excellent progrees was reported. Arch l.ishop AvA-ill presided at the meeting. In referring to the balance of the lixl-o account, Mrs. R. G. Coats, the honorary lodjje treasurer, said that it wan proposed to buiW a new wing comprising a store room, a wood and coal (died. In moving the adoption of the various reports and balance sheet, Archbinhop Averill congratulated the society on tho excellent work being done, not only in the main lodge, but in the various branches of the society, too. The archbishop also paid a tribute to the good work carried out by Mws Hunter, the. l*dy eupcrintendont of the l<xlg-e.

Approval of the Sunday afternoon teas was expressed by Archbishop Averill, who spoke of his pleasure at the fact that the society was keeping its doors open and offering a friendly hand to the. girls outakle it* own membership.

Mention was made in the report of the death of the following members, who had helped in the building up of the 'Auckland branch of the society:— Mrs. Hancock, Mrs. Ann Butler, Mrs. Alioe Culpan, Mrs. Nairn and Mr. A.
