PRAYERS FOR PEACE.
ST. MATTHEWS SERVICE.
SPECIAL INTERCESSION.
The mid-week broadcast service from St. Matthew's Church thie week will be used as a special citizens' service of intercession for a peaceful settlement of European and world affairs. The service will commence at the customary hour to-morrow, at 12.30 p.m., and not at noon as previously arranged. By courtesy of IYA Broadcasting Station, it will be continued until 1.15 p.m.
The service is to be conducted by His Grace, Archbishop Averill, who will lead the prayers and deliver an address. City people who are within reach of St. Matthew's during the lunch hour are asked to come and give prayers for the cause of preserving our civilisation from catastrophe, and Christian people in the suburbs and country are invited to listen in and add their intercessions to those of the congregation in the church.
As it is impossible for a fixture of this kind to coincide with the lunch hours of all persons interested, anyone will be welcome to enter or leave th< church during the service.
