GRASS RESEARCH.
RUAKURA CONFERENCE
MEETING IN OCTOBER.
The seventh conference of the New Zealand Grassland Association will be held at the Ruakura State Farm from October 5 to 7, when a number of papers will be delivered by agricultural experts. Subjects dealt with will include the establishment of pastures on various kinds of land, topdreseing experiments, rehabilitation of deteriorated farms, grasslands overseas, erosion, and the relation of pastures to milk.
In its circular outlining the programme, the association states that gross farming so dominates the rural production of the Dominion, and especially the Auckland province, that all endeavours to foster efficiency in production and utilisation of pastures are worthy of attention by the farming community, thope trading with farmers and '.hose financing farmers.
This will mark the first occasion on which the conference has met in the Auckland province. Its object is to bring together the farmers, the merchants handling fanners' trade, and the research and advisory workers.
