Aβ a sequel to police raids on premises on August 20, Charles Frank* wae charged in the Magistrate's Court to-day before Mr. E. W. Walton, S.M., with obstructing the police in the execution of their duty.
Detective-Sergeant McWhirter eaid that in company with a constable- he visited a billiard room and at the door heard someone call: "Look out." When defendant came out of the door he was asked why he called out and replied: "I don't like to #ee you fellows about." In reply to counsel for the accused, witness said he did not effect an arrest at the billiard saloon, but he had warrants for arrests for gaining offences. The magistrate held that no offence was being committed in the billiard saloon on the detective's own admission and therefore the defendant could not have warned anybody, and wu not guilty.
