CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.
TAKAPUNA GUN CLUB,
In difficult weather conditions for good marknianship the Takapuua Uun Club held a week-end clay bird shoot at Barry's Point. Takapuna. There whs a good attendance of shooters and visitors including representative*! of the Pukekolie Gun Club. The principal event of the day was a. l.">bird match, which was won by L. F. Strain after a shoot-off with E. Catheart and 1* J. Henderson. Kesults :— Seven Bird Byeopener.—E. Cathcart (14yM*t shut the possible of seven birds and won outright the sweep money. G. Cath<art (li'yilsj aiid K. CatHcn-t (llydsi divided the seeoud sweep money. J. C. Curren (llydsi rhot five l.irds. Fifteen Bird Match.—ln a keen inatfli l>. F. Strain (13ydsi. K. I'ntlicnrt (14yds> and 1,. J. Henderson (17yds i nil tied with the score of 13 birds each. In the shoot-off (five birds, then tirsr miss oun. 1.. V. Strain won on the tweuty-!"pcoiid bird, an<l secured the trophy. K. Monteirh (14ydsi and <i. C'atheart <12ydsi shot twelve birds each. Seven-bird Sweepstake. — K. Cath.art (14yds) and G. Cuthcjirt (12yd»l tied with six birds each and divided the nweep money. L. .1. Henderson (17yds> and L. F. Strain (13yds i shot five birds each for second place.
