WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.
Mangaweka.—The September meeting of the Mangaweka Women's Institute was presided over by Mrs. Ince. The motto for the afternoon was. given by Miss Gardner and a reading by Mrs. Sutherland. A recitation, "The Bairnies Cuddle Doon," was greatly enjoyfd, after which Miss Hawkins' interesting talk on eurhythmies added to the afternoon's entertainment. Mangaweka had the pleasure at this meeting of having on the table the silver cup won by the Ruapehu Federation at the Dominion conference.
Panmure.—Mount Wellington: Mrs. Coates presided over a good attendance at the last meeting, at which a demonstration of dress styles and pattern cutting was given. The competition, a vase of spring flowers, brought forth a beautiful display. Mrs. Carnachan was the winner, with Mrs. Pachett second.
