CABARET METROPOLE.
Instrumental novelties were a. feature cf the music at the Cabaret Metropole on Saturday evening, Em Beacham leading his band in a soccescion of gay melodies that evoked hearty applause from the dancers. Novelty numbers with a touch of comedy were presented by the versatile players whose individual talents were called into action. Show songs from the latest films provided a modern note, while requests for old favourites contributed to the diversity of the programme. George McNeil was again in the forefront of favour with his specialty songs as well as his guitar numbers, and Miss White contributed a selection of popular descriptive songs to orchestral accompaniment. Race night attracted a large gathering of special parties entertaining visiting guests. Bright cabaret accessories and the new panel lighting enhanced the various musical presentations.
