Holding that too many people were securing specialist treatment, often where unnecessary, the Oook Hospital Board has appointed a medical committee to approve of applicants for specialist treatment without consulting the hospital.
Dr. W. A. Bowie, acting-medical superintendent, said the practice was creeping in that patients should consult specialists.
Dr. J. C. Collins said that unless the board checked what was a modified form of abuse a position would arise that was not in the best interests of the board or the patients*
