CONCESSION TO USERS.
RAILWAY DECISION. SAVING OF 20 PER CENT. (From Our Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH. Friday. Striking reductions for regular users of road passenger transport services operated by the Railways Department have been made in the form of concession tickets. This announcement was made to-day by the manager of the Christchurch depot (Mr. W. Hannah The concession tickets apply to all of the Department's services throughout New Zealand with the exception of certain suburban ones none of which exist in Christchurch. Passengers will be able, said Mr. Hanna, to purchase a six-return ticket available for a period of three months, at a charge computed at six ordinary return fares, less 20 per cent. This means that the cost of a concession ticket on the Hanmer run, for instance, would be six return trips at 2ti/ less 20 per cent—a saving of 31/. On the Christchurch-Akaroa run the saving would be £G 15/, less the rebate, or 27/.
