A RESONANT CHORD.
Padre Revives a Memory. " PARAGRAPH in your excellent "Diggers'*- page" of August 20 reminds me that some-are still carrying on in the good old style. I had not met Padre Bush-King on active service, but had heard a considerable bit about him. It was my luck a few years after my return, to be in a small place to which he was appointed (I think) first vicar. To enable him to cover his very scattered parish, he possessed the absolute last word in "Lizzies." With this contraption of string and iron, he penetrated almost impossible corners, and brought a jovial cheeriness to the backblocks. He was' also a splendid item and assistance at our annual reunion. "I am very pleased to find him still carrying on. Incidentally he was officiating officer at the naming of my eldest. "In conclusion, let me wish you every success in your Ex-servicemen's Page. Ist AJ.B. (Alderman's Innocent Boys.)
