NEW ZEALANDERS RETURN.

.'■i' good voyage from Saigon was experienced by the Dutch vessel Tasman, _which arrived yesterday afternoon. A foQoVing s3S!~and a heavy ship roll was ' encountered between Norfolk Island and the North Cape. - Twenty-one residents of Norfolk arrived by the Tasman. Six of them "We Pitcairn Islanders and one at least, Ernest Evans, a single man 26 years of age, lias never been in a town in his life. He was amazed at the number of buildings visible as he came up the harbour this morning.

Mr. W. Corkhill, formerly of Ahipara, North Auckland, who has been a planter for twelve years on Norfolk Island, returned in company with a number of otfter New Zealanders to take up residence in the Dominion. Lack of market for their bananas and passion fruit has made it impossible for them to live, Mr. Corkhill said. It is his intention to take up gumdigging in the Far North. He said that within the last two years about 150 of the population of Nwfolk Island had left for Australia and New Zealand.

Mr.\E. F. H. Burbury, "Glynn Wye," North Canterbury, a well-known sheepfarmer, returned after a two months' tour of the Dutch East Indies.

The sight of farmers in Java carrying home their plougng and letting the oxen walk amused Mr. H. P. Wills, eheepfarmer, of Eltham, Taranaki, who, aocompanied by Mrs. Wills, returned homji on the boat.

-, Mr. A. Jelliffe, of Sydney, was a through passenger. He is the owner of Sir Harold, one of the favourites in the-Melbourne Cup.
