Saturday's Wedding.

STEVENSON—TAYLOR.

Irises, roses and sprays of lavender decorated St. David's Church, Khyber Pass, on Saturday afternoon when the wedding was solemnised 67 Miss Olive Jean Taylor, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Taylor, of New Plymouth., and Mr. James Muir Stevenson, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Stevenson, of Woodford Road, Mount Eden. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. Bower Black.

The bride wore an exquisite gown of ivory satin brocaded marocain made with the new high waistline, a shirred cross over bodice and long tightly fitting sleeve* shirred at the shoulder line. The skirt, which was cut on the croes, fitted closely to the hips and then flared into a soft sweeping train finished with scalloped edges of fine satin piping. The veil of hand-made Brussels lace was held in place by a epray of orange blossoms, and flowed srace fully over the shoulders to the hemline of the frock. The bride's bouquet was of white irises a'iid lilies.

The bride was attended by Mrs. N. Simpson as matron of honour and Miss Olwyn Swales as bridesmaid. They were dressed alike in portrait gowns of coral pink taffeta cut on iCmpire lines. The full skirts were finished with sprays of quilted roses and the bodices were made with heart-shaped necklines and Medici collars. Deep magenta coloured sashes added a touch of colour, and on their heads the attendants wore coronets of real flowers in pink shades. Their bouquets were sheathe of shaded pink gladiolus.

The flower girl, Mies Thelma Steveneon, niece of the bridegroom, wore a coral pink taffeta frock made with a tight fitting bodice and % large circular skirt. The bodice was buttoned up to the neckline and was finished with a scalloped Peter Pan collar and a magenta eash at the waist line. She wore a coronet of flowers on her head and carried a posy of pink roses. The page boy, Master Rosa Stevenson (nephew of the bridegroom) wore a cream satin tailored shorts and a shirt finished with fine pleating on the collar and cuffs.

The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Claude Strombohm (New Plymouth) as best man, and Mr. Ronald Driver (Hastings) as groomsman. The ushers at the church were Mr. W. Dalton, Mr. Jack Russell. Mr. Bob Rowan and Mr. C. W. Richardson.

Following the wedding ceremony a reception was held in the Parnell Tea Kiosk. Mrs. H. P. Taylor received her guests wearing a midnight blue ensemble of satin embossed georgette. With it she wore a peach bloom hat. and carried a bouquet of deep red cyclamen. The bridegroom's mother. Mrs. W. Stevenson, wore a velvet frock of deep violet and a large matching hat. She carried a bouquet of shaded cyclamen in pink and mauve shades. Mrs. A. Russell, grandmother of the bridfc, wore black georgette and lace with a smajl toque and a seal coat. She carried a ■posy of violets and maidenhair fern. During the reception a vocal solo was given by Mrs. T?ay Stevenson, eister-in-law of the bridegroom.
