SOCIAL AT WAIWERA.
RECEPTION TO RT. HON. J. G.
COATES.
A social in the form of a reception to the Bt. Hon. J. G. Coatee was held in the' Gaiety Hall at Waiwera on Fridayevening. Over 200 were present. Mr. Coates was accompanied by Mrs. Coates and the Misses Costes and on arrival they were given a great ovation, Mrs. Coates being presented with a beautiful bouquet.
Dancing occupied most of the evening and after supper Mr, Coates addressed the gathering. The Maori Boys' orchestra from Tinopai provided good music, and at the end of his address Mr. Coates particularly thanked them for coming all the way to Waiwera. A very hearty vote of thanks wee accorded Mr. Coates.
