INTRODUCTION WEDNESDAY.
PENSIONS BILL LATER.
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLESTGTOX, this day.
The outstanding event of the Parliamentary week will be the Budget, which will be presented on Wednesday nijrht.
This was the main subject at a caucus of the Government party to-day, the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, statin"; that an indication had been given to members of some of the main points involved.
It was also ascertained from Mr. Savage that the social security legislation is almost completely drafted. It had been found possible to include in one bill both the national health scheme and the national superannuation.
The present intention of the Government is to dispose of the Budget before introducing the social security legislation.
The financial debate will take at least a fortnight, the Opposition being very keen to discuss the country's financial position, and particularly the heavy additional liabilities involved in the coming legislation. Th'e Hon. A. Hamilton will open the financial debate on Thursday night, and will be followed by Mr.'Savage.
A southern trip of a few days' duration is being arranged by Mr. Savage, who hopes to leave Wellington on Friday week. Xo political addresses are to be given, the visit to be in the nature of a goodwill visit.
