Combined with hie Mayoral duties, Mr. R. M. Macfarlane has been entrusted by a London resident with the reeponsibility of finding her a husband, preferably a farmer.
A letter from the woman, who. stated that «he formerly lived in Christchurch, ha* been received by the Mayor, asking him to try and lielp her to find a good husband, a farmer, if possible. Explaining that she was 39 years of age, o-ood looking end of clean habits, the writer added that she wae a widow ami wanted to settle down again, as she was very lonelv.
