KIWIS PARADE.

AUCKLAND GAME. RUGBY LEAGUE ATTRACTION. STRONG TEAMS CHOSEN. The New Zealand representative League', team, which has just concluded a tour of Australia, will be seen at Carlaw Park to-morrow afternoon, when they will meet a strong Auckland representative side. If the weather conditions are gocx], a fast and interesting match should result as the teams should be well matched. The- Kiwis should have the advantage in combination after their tor.r of Australia, where their back play was fast, open and often spectacular. In the Kew Zealand team selected a choice has been made of the playere who were outstanding on the tour and an Auckland public will look forward to the reappearance of H.emi, who was the biggest point-getter on the tour, and Kay, who was considered the best penetrative New Zealand back. Hemi's goalkicking was a feature of the tour and hie efforts to-morrow are keenly awaited.

The Auckland team is a well-balanced side and includes several playere who hajl strong claims for inclusion in the New Zealand team. They should be well served by Glover, the young Marist full-back, Haslain and Scott are sound centre playere, and T. Chase and Campbell should be able to make the best of chances that come to- the wings. Campbell will take the place of Riley, who is iIL Campbell has shown brilliant attacking form in the club matches and it is pleasing to see him get a chance in representative football.

Banham, the Sydney player-coach, should add strength to the Auckland team, and his constructive play at standoff half should be valuable in helping to get the Auckland backs under way.

The two packs are approximately about even in strength, but much will depend on hooking success. Orman. the South Isl.Tnd player, who has a big reputation as a hooker, will contest ball possession in the scrums with Leatherbarrow, the Mount Albert forward, and on recent form the latter should be capable of giving Auckland quite a fair ehare of the ball from set positions. In the back of the scrum Morgan, Gunning and Petersen are all up to the best standard.

Australian critics agreed that the New Zealand League standard had improved very much, and the bright open play of the tourists was greatly admired, while Hemis goalkicking on occasions was of a sensational order. Thus League followers will look forward to-morrow to the Kiwie giving a repetition of their best Australian form, although the general feeling is that the Auckland team, provided that their play comes utVJo expectations, will extend the New Zealand team to the utmost. The president, Mr. J. A. Redwood, eaid that the New Zealand Referees' Association had been asked to submit appointments, and Messrs. Thompson, Chalmers and Kelly had been nominated. He was pleased to see the younger members of the Referees' Association put forward to control important games. : Mr. R. Doble, Auckland delegates, said that he could not understand why Auckland's best-known referees, Messrs. Wetberill and Rogers, were not nominated to control such an important game. Mr. H. Wileon (West Coast) wanted to I know why the New Zealand Referees' I Association had not nominated ite leading I referees. _

Mr. W. J. Taylor said that he was not prepared to approve the nominations as submitted by the New Zealand Referees' Association. He wae definite in the opinion that in the first pla«e the New Zealand Referees' Association was asked for nominations of the recognised best senior grade referees. Mr. G. K. Asher supported the nomination of Mr. F. Thompson, ae he was a referee likely to make good with experience in bi(j games. Mr. E. Stallworthy said that Mr. Thorn [won was a good referee, and he saw no reason why his nomination should not be approved. It was eventually decided to appoint Mr. F. Thompson to control the game. It was decided to approve the Northern I'nion Challenge Cup game between the West Coast ami Canterbury, to be played at Christeburch on July 30. The managers of the New Zealand touring team. Messrs. Redwood and Ga/law, reported that negotiations had '.wen commenced with the New South Wales Country team for a visit to New Zealand Inter in the season. Mr. Redwood eaid the Country team would include six members of the Kangaroos. An application was Teceived from the South Sydney Club to play three matches in Auckland.
