MR. ALEXANDER MONOAH
Missionary movements among the Maoris have suffered a loss in the death of Mr. Alexander Manoah, a full-blooded Samoa 11, who came to Auckland in 1912 and joined the Central Mission, Albert Street. Later he was attached to the France Street and Albert Street missions. Mr. Manoah also worked for a lont: period among the "down and out" men in connection with the Methodist Mission, Airedale Street. For some tims prior to his death he was engaged chiefly in visiting Maoris in the Mount Eden prison and the Auckland Mental Hospital. He is survived by his wife and eight children. The funeral to-day was preceded by a memorial service at the Airedale Street Mission, conducted •by the Rev. A. E. Orr and the Rev. E. Te Tuhi, Maori Methodist Mission superintendent.
