WINTER YACHTING.
ROYAL AKARANA CLUB,
The Royal Akarana Yacht Club held its third series of winter sailing races for dinghies Oft and under on Saturday off the clubhouse, Campbell's Toint. There was a light northerly breeze and the finishes were close. First Race. —This event started at 3.5 p.m. over two rounds of the compass dolphin—Resolution buoy course. Th<> finish was: Scram (scr), 3h 4(im Ss; Pet (4ni), 3h 47m 8s; Tired Tim (4m I, 3h 4f)ni ss; Weona (8m), 3h 51m 445: Scarab (10m), 3h 54m 7s; Maumau (Cm), 3h 50m 15s. Result: Tet (J. Hutchison) 1, Weona (N. Patrick) 2, Scarab (H. Aimer) 3. Second Race.—This race started at 4.20 p.m:. over one round of the-course. The. finish was: Scram (scr), 4h 34m H>s ; Pet (scr), 4h 34m 13s: Swan (scr). 4h 34m 40s: Tane (scr). 4h 3fim "iss; Tired Tim dm 30s). 4h 37m 15s: Weona (2m 30s), 4h 38m 38s: Maumau (3m), 4h 3'Jra 14s; Sea raft (4m), 4h 41m 3s. Result: Maumau (A. 1, Scram (R. L. Stewart) 2. Swan (S. Kean) 3. Mr. T. McKnlght was officer of the dav.
