CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.
ICORRUISVUXE CXUB. MURRAY PRATT IN GOOD FORM. (From Our Correspondent.) MORRINSVILLE, Saturday. A feature of the Morrinsville Gun Club's open shoot on Saturday, which attracted about 40 competitors from all parts of the Auckland province south of Auckland, was the pood shooting of Murray Pratt, of Otorohanga, the Xew Zealand champion, who was placed on the back mark, 21 vards, in the 15-bird sweepstakes. Pratt shot 14 birds in t .vo 15-blrd events. In the final 15-bird event of the day he shot the possible off 19yds. Those present stood In silence for a moment during the day to pay their respects to the late Mrs. I. Aitken, mother of Mr. W. J. Aitken, president of the Morrinsville Gun Club, who died on Wednesday. Details of the shooting are as follows: — Eye-opener, five birds.—The possible was shot by \V. McLean and E. Wright (Matamata), J. R. Kinnane (Marakopa), A. J. Brown and W. J. GUlett (Rotorua), W. H. Holmes, H. W. Carter and M. Pratt (Otorohanga), J. Darlington (Ngatea), C. Hodge and W. J. Turner (Auckland). There were 24 shooters. Sweepstake, nine birds. —The possible was shot by G. A. Tarr (Hamilton, 13yds), A. J. Brown (Rotorua, 14yds), W. H. Holmes (Otorohanga, 13yds), W. J. Turner (Auckland, 16yds) and C. Webber (Morrinsville, 15yds). There were 28 shooters. First £1 Sweepstake, 15 birds. —W. Brinkworth (Hamilton, 14yds) and J. Darlington (Xgatea, 12yds) shot the possible. Those who shot 14 birds were: A. V. Wright (Huntly). W. Webster (Otorohanga), Malcolm, H. W. Carter (Otorohanga). C. Webber (Morrinsville), M. Pratt (Otorohanga), W. J. Turner (Auck--1 land). C. J. Benton (Te Kuiti). Second £1 Sweepstake, 15 birds. —E.
