WEIRD EXPERIENCE.
UCrKTNINGr STRIKES RADIO. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. A weird experience was shared by people sitting round the radio set of Mr. A. Russ, of Valley Road, Hikurangi, at 7.30 p.m. yesterday. A loud crackling issued from the machine, and fot several seconds the room was suffused with a bright blue light. This was the only illumination as the electric light globe had fused.
Mr. Russ, who was handling the controls of the set at the time, felt a distinct tingling sensation, indicating thit the set had l>een struck by lightning. Except for the fusing of the globe no damage was done.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAXGAXUI, this day. Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightnin-T was experienced in th>? Wanganui district over the weekend. The Wanganui River was flooded, while the Rnngitikei River was in moderate flojd. TLe weather is improving to-day.
