NOTE FROM JAPAN.
Australian Embargo On Export Of Iron Ore. £500,000 CLAIM LIKELY. SYDNEY, June 14. The Japanese Consul-General, Mr. Wakamatsu, has forwarded to the Prime Minister, Mr. Lyons, a further Note concerning the Australian embargo on the export of irpn ore and urging its reconsideration. The Note adds that, failing this, the Japanese Government is likely to stand behind the Yampi Sound interests, who intend to claim at least £500,000 from the Federal Government. Mr. Wakamatsu, explaining the Japanese viewpoint, says that such an embargo is against world opinion, which favours giving all nations access to necessary raw materials and freeing obstacles to national trade.
