BUILDING IN BERLIN.
Reconstruction of Capital Started By Hitler. MUNICH SYNAGOGUE REMOVED (Received It a.m.) BERLIN", June 14. With three hammer-blows on the foundation-stone of a new tourist bureau in the heart of the city on the eastwest axis, Herr Hitler, echoed by high officials at 16 other points, launched a roaring chorus of road-drills and con-crete-mixers at noon, as demolition began as a prelude to the gigantic reconstruction of the capital. A Munich cable states that although the shock caused by the destruction of the Jewish synagogue, which was ordered by Herr Hitler on June 8, has not subsided, the populace was disturbed to witness the erection of scaffolding aro*md the largest Protestant church, namely, St. Matthew's, preparatory to its demolition in spite of the church authorities being assured that every care would be taken of the edifice in connection with the reconstruction of the adjacent underground railway. Catholics and Protestants alike are filled "with misgivings at the ruthless destruction of churches.
