WHANGAREI UNION.
As the Roller Mills Shield competition among school football teams will be played in Auckland during the second week of the August school holidays, a schools' football tournament will be staged at Whangarei during the first ,week, when it k expected that teams from the majority of the sub-unions in the North will compete. The Whangarei Rugby Union at its last meeting decided to ass«£ as much as possible with this tournament, and a donation was made of a set of jerseys and stockings to the Whangarei School representative team to content the Roller Mills Shield competition. A donation of £1 1/ wa« made to the funds of the Whangarei County Pipe Band. As the North Auckland representatives will meet Auckland at Auckland on July 23.- the union will try to arrange a match against the Rodney County. representatives on that day.
