LUCKY TECHNICAL. START LEVEL WITH THE LEADING TEAMS. When Technical Old Boys and Training College make their debut in the first division competition on Saturday week, despite the fact that they have just been promoted from .lie second division. Technical will stnr-i level with the leaders — Ponsonby and Grafton —and Training College will be level with Grammar in the third position. In the second division the unfortunate Otahuhu and University fifteens will start at the bottom, with two and no points respectively. This peculiar position will arise as the result of the Rugby Union's decision at the beginning of the season that the teams relegated and promoted at the end of the first round should carry their championship points with them into their new division. The union's rule provides that the points of the promoted second division sides muet not exceed those of the leading first division fifteen. Therefore, Technical, who finished up with 13 points, will drop one point in order to stand level with the leaders, who have scored 12 points each.
