Payments were also made to 10.701 dependents of dead former soldiers other than widows, widowed mothers and children. and to 2300 dependents of incapacitated former soldiers. During the year SO!) new grants were made to former soldiers. 1000 wives. 2K24 children and 300 other dependents. After allowing for I">.3|S pen-ions discontinued during the year, 2.11.50U pensions were in force. From June 1. 1020, to .Tune 30. 1037. the assessment tribunals heard 2(1,07(1 appeals, allowed 0303, disallowed 1-1.488, reduced 78 and deferred 10.
