POST OFFICE ACCOUNTS. REPLY TO MR. HAMILTON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON", .Monday. A suggestion by the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. A. Hamilton, that the Postmaster-General, the Hop. I\ Jones, had introduced new matter into the argument about the Post Ofiice Savings Bank accounts during the depression years, was questioned by Mr. Jones this evening. Mr. Hamilton stated at Auckland that Mr. Jones was attempting to carry on the argument by introducing figures and dates which were entirely different from those mentioned in the Prime Minister's original statement and Mr. Hamilton's reply.
"I will be. interested to learn in what respect the figures I quoted in the statement I made at Dunedin are not-applic-able to those previously mentioned by the Prime Minister and Mr. Hamilton," sakl Mr. Jones. "That statement tfas made at the express wish of the Prime Minister, who asked me to state the full facts of the case. I will be pleased to know from Mr. Hamilton in what way the figures and dates I gave are not related to the question in dispute."
