MISSING MAIL BAG.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) GISBORNE, this day. Despite intensive police activity no [trace has yet been found of a mail bag which is thought to have been removed from the Wairoa-Gisborne mail service at Morere last week-end. The driver of the mail truck left Wairoa for Gisborne at 8.30 p.m. on' Saturday, and on arrival at Morere left the mail in his van for a few minutes while he had a cup of tea. On returning to the van to hand over the mail he found that-the bag had been removed. The bag contained registered mail, and the contents are reported to be valuable.
