NEW PRINCIPAL.

WANGANUI APPOINTMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, Wednesday. Miss Marjorie E. Baker, M.A., has been appointed principal of the Wanganui Girls' College in succession to Miss A. C. Tizard, M.A., who is resigning. Miss Baker is at present senior English mistress at the Timaru Girls' High School. She graduated at the Canterbury University College, where she obtained her B.A. degree in 1921, and her M.A. degree in the following year. She took first-class honours in history, being one of only two candidates to obtain that distinction in the Dominion in that year. She has been on the staff of the Timaru High School for 13 years.
