ROUND THE LAKE RECORD FIELD FOB NEXT SATURDAY. On Saturday next the Calliope Harrier Club will be conducting the annual "round the lake" open handicap road race. . The event this year has attracted a record field of 120 runners, which will constitute the biggest open handicap race ever held in Auckland. The best of Auckland's cross-country 'runners will be competing, with all the clubs well represented by their fastest men. J. Neil, of Presbyterian, R. Crompton, of Lynndale, N. Ambler, of Calliope, Watters, of Auckland, and Collins, of Hamilton, should make the tyne fast. The record for this 3%-mile course is held by W. Savidan. The race is to start at 3.15 p.m. from the Takapuna Power Station, and the course is a complete circuit of Lake Takapuna.
