CENTENNIAL PLANS.

ISSUE OF SEASON TICKETS.

(By Telegraph.—Presa Association.)

WELLINGTON, this day.

Arrangements for the purchase in advance by instalments of season tickets to admit holder to the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition throughout the six months when' it is open,, have'been formulated by the directors of the exhibition. Leading business firms and Government Departments 'have-.,, been approached to their employee* to purchase - tickets; A season ticket will- cost 30/ and will entitle the holder to admission whenever and as often as he pleased while the exhibition is open. That period will include approximately 150 working days. Agents are to be nominated in the offices of business houses co-operating in the scheme to receive regular instalments of Od or so a week from employees so aa to enable even the recipients of small salaries to obtain seaaon tickets.

, The ticketslwill . be; made out in the name of the holder and will not be transferable, ' They - will ' carry the signature of the holder, and if his identity >{■' challenged on entering the exhibition/he will be asked to sign a Register, which can bo compared with th« signature on the card. For the convenience of season ticket holders special turnstiles will be provided, and they will not have to queue up with those seeking cash admission at the gates. .There will, be no pre-sales of tickets to the exhibition other than of aeason tickets. Admissibnwill'be- by.cdah at' the- gates. It has been found in, other j parte of the "world thatr this' is the moat expeditious ..and. .convenient -method of handling large crowds and that it' almost eliminates i"gale-crashii<g,'' Strip tickets pTe-sold in' larrge' rrambere are often copied or forged, whereas the only possible danger in' the cash turnstile system is that if a man at the gate m not., reliable he may slip :two through a turnstile at a time and pocket the e*tra shilling. Tlie women's section of the exhibition is to be an important one, and representative committees have been formed to arrange exhibits of fine arts, handin crafts and industrial products, ' and organise demonstrations - and lectured from professional women on a variety of subjects.

The women's section will, in fact, cover- practically every aspect of women's life in the Dominion. Space has been allotted to - the New Zealand Women's Institutes and the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union.
