SHORE LEAVE.
GOAT AND WALLABY. MASCOTS ON WARSHIP. Despite much attention, and the fact that they have no work to do, life has been irksome for two members of the "crew" of the French war sloop Rigault de Genouilly. The pair are the ship's mascots, a live wallaby and a much livelier goat, which had" got somewhat used to fT heaving motion and steel decks, and largely forgotten what green fields look like. This morning the sloop went into Calliope Dock and the wallaby and goat were taken ashore at the dockyard to enjoy shore leave amid plenty of green grass. Their enjoyment was unbounded.
