RAILWAY EXTENSION.
CABINET ORDERS SURVEY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON? Friday. An announcement that Cabinet had authorised an up-to-date eurvey of the route of the proponed railway line between Taneatua and Opotiki was made by the Prime Minister. Kt. Hon. M. J. (Savage, at the conclusion of a meeting of Cabinet this evening. Mr. Savage said this survey would be undertaken without delay. A survey had been made many years ago, but since then there had been representations that the route might be improved upon. Mr. Savage said earlier to-day that this work was one of the promises made b» the Government at the last general election, and it would be carried out.
