MODEL YACHTS.

ANITUAL HARBOUR RACE. THE MAYOR'S TROPHY. Tlie nnnunl harbour race for model yachts up to 4ft overall, promoted by the commodore of the Tamaki Yacht Club, for which Sir Krnest Davis has donated a cup to be won outright on tlie day, will be sailed to-morrow, starting oft tlie Tamaki Yacht Clubhouse at 2.80 p.m.

The course is from off clubhouse in line with a mark moored north, thence round beacon off end of Kohiuiariinia wharf (on ]M>rt). thence rouml Bean Rock lighthouse (on port 1, finishing off clubhouse, as at start. Mr. Wilkinson will be starter and timekeeper, and Mr. J. Park, judge.

The race will be sailed under the rules adopted by the combined clubs, the main racing rules being as follow :—A boat closehauled on the port tack shall keep out of tiie way of. a boat close-hauled on the starboard tack. In the case of a foul the boat 011 the starboard tack shall be sent off first. A boat on tlie wind shall give way to a boat running free. A lviat running free, has the right of way over a boat on any other point of sailing. Any boat overtaking another nhall keep clear of the overtaken boat or boats.

When making any adjustment to a model requiring the skipper to go alongside it. both hands shall be clear of Ihe. 0.-.rs. If any model, dinghy or skipper touches nny mark of the course or part of the mark ihiring 11 race, a foul is constituted, and he must withdraw from the race unless lie has the right to lodge a protest. A model must not be. lifted out of the water during the progress of a race. No weight shall he projected over the sides of a model. AM competitors shall be under the full control of the starter, who can recall or restart a race, at his discretion.

Each skipper will provide his own dinghy, which may lie lefr it the Tamaki clubhouse to-morrow morning. No restrictions are placed on ihe number of persons In 11 dinghy, which must also go roiind the course th» same ns the models, keeping clear of marks.

The ladies' committee of the Tamiiki T.leht Club will provide light refreshments after the race, and a dance, will he hWd at night.

A race for the Speedwell Cup for the Wak.ilere (lass of 14-footers will be held io-inoirow off I'onsonby by special request of the Wakatere Club. The race will be handled by the Heme Bay Yacht Club. Tlie race will start at L'.2u p.m. over the same course as the Silver Ferns. The competitors are : —Wnkiurul, Dryad, and Mr. K. Thorpe's new boat Aluil.
