An interesting lecture on the Salvation Army's work in China was given by Commandant New ton at a drawing room afteri n arranged an.l presided over by (Mi.-.) Major Thomson in connection wilii tlie Papakiira Home League. Miss Bayly, ot the China inland Mission was also present. Solos were sung by Mrs. A. Crickett (Htiima) and Mrs! Deed. Afternoon tea was dispensed by Mesdames Cook, Condon and Blair.
