MISHAPS ON PLATING FIELD.
Struck by a cricket ball in the last cricket match of the season, between Balmoral second and third grade teams on Saturday, William Aitken Middleton. of 15, St. Mark's Road. Remuera, collided at the same time with another player. He was taken to hospital with a broken bone in his face.
Rangi Chase, of 1(1, Windsor Road, Parnell, received a shoulder injury while playing for the Manukau senior League team against Newton at Carlaw Park on Saturday, and Norman Frederick Drew, of Summer Street, Ponsonby, fractured his ankle at Grey Lynn Park while playing for the Mount Albert senior League reserves. Both these players were taken to hospital.
