(By Telegraipli.—Press Association.) j WELLINGTON", Monday, j Complete agreement was reached in Conciliation Council to-day at the j adjourned hearing of the dispute affect-! ing storemen and packers in the motor j j assembly works in the Wellington industrial district. The main points still in dispute at the beginning of j to-day's hearing were wages for leading! hands, electric hoist truck operators and! 'Istoremen and packers, rates for casual workers, payment for dirty work and, : holidays. During discussion on the wages claims' ; the employers offered a weekly rate of ; £4 12/(i and a casual rate of 2/4.1 an' ; hour. The workers claimed £•"> I~>/ for; ; leading hands. £."> 10/ for truck opera-j : tors and £o ft/ for storemen and packers. At that stage it was agreed that] s a settlement of wages would practically' settle the dispute. The employers' I assessors withdrew to confer about wages and, on their return offered 2/74 an hour for storemen and packers 1 employed in connection with completely 1 knocked down parts, and whose duties * included the checking of parts, and 2/(5 an hour for other storemen and packers •*' not required to check parts. A protjviso was added by the employers that nothing in the award should apply to s I workers in the spare parts departments. C The workers' assessors were granted lan adjournment to consider the offer njand. when they returned in the afteri noon, they announced that it was accepted to them. The remainder of the y | discussion turned on minor consequen--1 tial alterations to the award.
