TEACHERS ACCEPTED.
SHORT-TERM COMMISSIONS,
Upon hearin.; the news of their acceptance for short-term commissions in tlie Koyal Air I'oice. three former students of tho Teachers* Training College. Messrs. .A. .1. Macdonald, ('. Peacock and \A . S. hae, all of Auckland, have resigned trom the teaching service in ordci* to begin their aviation traiiiin-r. After several months' preliminary training in New Zealand they will leave °for Kngland.
'J he applications for the commissions were made in December to the Air Department. Wellington, and in February the applicants were interviewed in Auckland by the selecte<l committee, consisting of \\ ing-Comniander L' M I=itt Squad roil -Leader K. M. F. CJrundV and Major L. \\. Iree. Permission was given the students by the Education Department to leave the profession with the assurance that they would be able to rejoin as probation assistants after thev had completed their commissions, which are for six years.
