On the instrumental side |of the programme, two of M? most ! popular performers were Mr. .Van Mor- ] ton. the Xew Zealand champion Clarinetist. and Mr. Joseph Padeseli. r,nnn- | accordionist, who delighted their he-irers j with selections of Trish air.s. Brass .band numbers were played by the band |of the Ist Battalion. Auckland Regi- ' merit. under the conductorshtp of .Lieutenant Bowes. Other attractions were:—Trish figured hornpipe, given by the children of the Clood Shepherd School, Balmoral: "Rinnce Munif.dh." a traditional dance given by Mi=-- C'e'ia Wliitty, an exponent of the Minister School: "Rinnee I'ladli." danced by Miss Kilish Curran in the tradition of Ulster SeliooT: three Trish traditional folk dances, "Hooks and F.yes." "Th« Basket Woman" and "The Siege of Carrick." given by the children of St. Joseph's School. Grey Lynn. All these were enthusiastically applauded, as was also a clever display of gymnastics given by the boys of the Sacred Heart College. "Hail. Glorious St. Patrick," sung bv the massed choirs and audience, brought tire 'concert to a close. The official piano accompanists were Messrs. Alan Pow and T. Finer. Mr. J. Papesch played the organ aceimpauii ments.
