NEW DIRECTOR.
OIL COMPANY POST. MR. C. K. GAMBLE RETURNS. Great pleasure at returning to Australia and New Zealand was expressed to-day by Mr. C. K. Gamble who, with Mrs. Gamble, is travelling on the Monterey to Melbourne to take up his recent o ppointrnent as managing director of <the Vacuum Oil Company, Ltd.
Well known in business circles in both countries, Mr. Gamble s[>ent seven years —from 1927 to 1034—in executive positions with the company in thi* iiekl. Actually he can claim petroleum marketing experience in four different continents—America, Kurope and Asia, as well as Australia. Born in California, Mr. Gamble graduated with first-class honours in arts from the University of California. When America entered the World W r ar he left a position in Greece for 18 months' service with the Field Artillery of the First American Expeditionary * Forces.
Durjng his previous residence in Australia h e visited every State of the Commonwealth and paid several visits to New Zealand.
